Good morning Wolverines!

Today is Friday, April 3rd and today is a Synchronous Learning Day.

Thank you parents/guardians for your patience and grace, as we have worked through another week of remote learning!  Many aspects of remote learning are running better each day and we will continue to work hard to give our students the best experience we can.  We greatly appreciate your hard work and your assistance.  It certainly takes a village!  Thank you!

We know everyone received Dr. Sutfin's message that students will not return to buildings this school year.  This is a sad and difficult time.  I'm sure there are many questions that everyone has and we will be communicating out a plan to our families over the next week.  We will need to be intentional and precise with our plan, as we will continue to follow social distancing guidelines.  Please know we will be communicating this to you as soon as we can.  Thank you again for your patience.

Our schedule for the upcoming week is below:

Monday:  eLearning day

Tuesday: eLearning day

Wednesday: Synchronous Learning day

Thursday: eLearning day

Friday:  Synchronous Learning day

To summarize our long term remote learning plan, students will experience an activity (not necessarily an online activity) each day.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays will be in the format of a teacher posting an assignment for the student to complete whenever it works into the students day.

On Wednesdays and Fridays, students will participate in Synchronous Learning throughout the day, where students will have live online interactions with teachers as they go through their daily schedule. As a reminder, if a student is unable to attend a live class, all classes are recorded and posted in google classroom for your student to view when available.

March 27, 2020

Good morning Wolverines!

Today is Friday, March 27th and today teachers will be posting assignments in google classroom.

We know connectivity was better yesterday, however we have additional plans to continue to address this issue which we will address below.  Thank you for your patience!

Here's the plan:  We knew all 6 middle schools in Millard were doing Synchronous Learning on the same day, Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that is taking too much bandwidth across the district.  The district has asked that half of the middle schools (3 of us) move to different days for Synchronous Learning and we at AMS will do that to help make this better for everyone.

What does this mean?  Beginning next week, we will switch our Synchronous Learning days to Wednesdays and Fridays, instead of Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The good news is this should help greatly with connectivity and speed.  We thank you for your patience.  We've come a long way in a week!  Thank you!

On Wednesdays and Fridays, students will participate in Synchronous Learning throughout the day.  On Synchronous Learning days, students will have live online interactions with teachers as they go through their daily schedule. An example could be; if a student has math class on a regular school day at 10:33 a.m., they will now log in and participate in a live online math class at 10:33 a.m.  Again, if a student is unable to attend a live class, those classes will be recorded and posted in google classroom for your student to view when available.

Hang in there everyone!  It will get better each week!  Here's to a great weekend!!
