Show off your cooking skills!  Win gift card prizes and a trophy for your school!  Stop by the cafeteria or your Family Consumer Science class today to get your entry form.  Turn in your recipe to be part of your school’s team!   Sixth grade submits recipes for a healthy appetizer, the seventh grade for a vibrant fruit or vegetable salad or side dish and eighth grade for a chicken or vegetarian entrée.  Return your entry by Friday, March 31, 2017, for a chance to compete in the district-wide cook-off on April 13, 2017.  A team of three from each Middle school will compete.  Are you ready to be crowned Middle School Magic Meal Culinary Challenge Champion?



Millard South will be hosting a Color Run on Saturday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m. in Walnut Grove Park.  Registration is March 27-31 at Millard South. $15 cost, runner kit included. All proceeds and donations go to the pantry.

The kitchen will look a little different today on the serving line.  The fast take station is being replaced with a make your own deli sandwich bar.  There will be a fast take available on some days, it will vary day to day and will be in the cooler next to the explore station.  Come on down and check out the deli station!

After school the Staff will be taking on the students in the annual student vs staff basketball game.  Cost is $1 at the door.  Today during primetime is the last day to buy tickets to participate in the halftime knockout competition.  The top 3 winners will earn prizes!  You must bring your ticket to the game to enter the contest.  All $ goes to support the Millard Magic Unified Basketball team.

The annual National School Breakfast Week was launched in 1989 to raise awareness about the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP).  To celebrate National School Breakfast Week, Food Service will be hosting a FREE Breakfast available for all students this Friday March 10th.

Andersen Middle School has a shooting machine and her name is Coach Hinz.  If you want to see this machine in action, come support the staff in the student/staff basketball game on Thursday, March 16th after school.  Cost is $1 to enter and there will be a game of knockout between students and staff at halftime.  Could you be the lucky student that gets knocked out by a teacher?  Only way to find out is to bring a buck on Thursday, March 16th.  Proceeds go to the Millard Magic Unified basketball team.

Student Council will be sponsoring the 7th grade dance next Friday, March 10th, from 3-5 pm. Tickets will go on sale next Wednesday-March 8th, Thursday-March 9th, both before and after school. The cost of a ticket is $3.  They will also be on sale Friday-March 10th, but only before school. Tickets may be purchased at the door but will be $4. Not into dancing? The gym will be open for basketball and concessions available to purchase snacks. Come join the fun!


Youth to Youth: The informational meeting for our next field trip to the Amazing Pizza Machine will be this coming Monday, March 6th. 7th and 8th grade will be meeting during Prime Time, 6th grade will be meeting during 8th period. Both meetings will be in the Commons.

Friday is National Wear Red Day. National Wear Red Day was first celebrated 15 years ago to bring national attention to the fact that heart disease is the #1 killer of women and to raise awareness of women’s heart health. Please wear RED on Friday to show your support!
